The purpose of these two annual awards is to support high achieving domestic students into doctoral study in the Faculty of Applied Humanities.

Application Requirements
• AUT Scholarship Application Form.
• Academic Transcript.
• Curriculum Vitae.
• A 500 word outline of your preferred area of research and any
additional relevant supporting information.

Criteria
• High achieving domestic students with a research masters degree (including a thesis) with first class or second class first division honours whose research interest lies in the choice of fields offered in the Faculty of Applied Humanities.
• Students will be prioritised on the basis of their grades.
• Applicants must be NZ citizens or permanent residents.

Choice
• Choice will be made surrounded by two weeks of the deadline by a subcommittee of the Faculty Doctoral Board.
• No scholarship will be awarded upon any occasion if the Committee is of the opinion that there is no applicant of sufficient merit applying for the award.

1.     Name of Scholarship: Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution

Eligibility Criteria: You must be a graduating senior. Please see the various scholarships below to obtain specific guidelines:

Virginia DAR Scholarships-you must plot to work toward an undergraduate degree in a meadow additional than nursing and plot to concentrate a Virginia college or university.

American History Scholarship- you must plot to complete a minimum of 24 credit hours in American History or American Government in college and plot to concentrate a Virginia college or university.

Nursing Scholarship- you must plot to continue your education at an accredited Virginia school of nursing.

Deadline: January 16, 2012 (on or before)

 

2 . Name of Scholarship: The Ron Brown Scholarship

 Eligibility Requirements: The Ron Brown Scholar Program seeks to identify African-American high school seniors who will make significant contributions to the upper classes. Applicants must excel academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential, participate in community service actions and demonstrate financial need.

Deadlines: The Ron Brown Scholar Program currently has two deadlines for applications (students must be current high school seniors at the time of their application):

November 1st (2011) – application will be considered for the Ron Brown Scholar Program AND forwarded to a select and limited number of additional scholarship providers.

January 9th (2012) – final postmarked deadline in order to be considered for only the Ron Brown Scholar Program ONLY.

3.     Name of Scholarship: Suntrust Off to College Scholarship Sweepstakes

Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be a high school senior or undergraduate student. You can start applying for this scholarship online on September 16, 2011.

4.     Name of Scholarship: AXA Achievement Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements: You must be a senior that is active in the community implementing projects that help others and have overcome personal challenges. You must have a cumulative grade top average on a 4.0 scale.

5.     Name of Scholarship: The Gates Millennium Scholars Program

Eligibility Criteria: You must be an African American, American Indian/Alaska native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American; you must be a U. S. citizen; have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 on an unweighted 4.0 scale; will enroll in an accredited college or university in the fall of 2012 and have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or additional actions.

For the purpose of encouraging postgraduate research at Victoria, the University offers scholarships to students about to commence a full-time, research-focussed Master's degree.
Over thirty scholarships shall be offered, consisting of a $15,000 stipend, plus domestic fees. International students, additional than persons from Australia will be accountable to pay the difference linking the full international student fee and the domestic fee.

Purpose of award
To encourage research at Masters level at Victoria university. Only persons students enrolled solely for a 90 top thesis are eligible to apply.

Choice criteria
Only persons students enrolled solely for a 90 top thesis or above are eligible to apply. In some cases this will be Part 2 of a two-year Master's degree and will usually have the course code 591. Students who are enrolled in Master's degree programmes that have thesis or research components of less than 90 points, or who elect not to enrol for the solely by thesis choice, but instead enrol in taught courses, internships, performance, portfolio, practicum, or additional programme options, are eligible to apply for the Victoria Graduate Scholarships. Creative Prose candidates are eligible to apply for the Master's [by thesis] Scholarship.

Scholarships ensure representation from around the world at MW2011. Volunteers can ‘trade’ helping out for free registration.

Professional Scholarships

New and innovative accomplishments on the Web come from all kinds of organizations throughout the world. We recognise that many individuals who make significant contributions to the World Wide Web would be unable to concentrate MW2011 without some financial help. Competitive scholarships covering full conference registration and a full day of workshops will be awarded to a select number of applicants. In special cases, some support will also be offered for journey costs.

To be eligible, you must have made a significant contribution to the development of a cultural or heritage Web site, and must demonstrate that you would not be able to concentrate the meeting without support.

These scholarships are sponsored by companies active in Museums and the Web. 

Deadline for Professional Scholarship Applications: December 31, 2010.

 

Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums Scholarships

MAAM limb institutions that have not earlier been able to send staff to Museums and the Web are invited to apply for free registration for the person who would most subsidy from attending. Ten scholarships will be offered.  Applicants should return the MAAM Scholarship Form, indicating that they are MAAM members and that their the upper classes has not earlier been represented at Museums and the Web.

MAAM Scholarship Applications will be accepted until all are awarded – apply early!

 

Digital Asset Management Scholarships

Extensis is offering partial scholarships of $250 and the opportunity to take part in a three-hour workshop on Digital Asset Management to fifteen individuals responsible for the management of digital assets in their museums or interested in implementing asset management in the near future in a context that does not yet use DAMs. Applicants for these scholarships should make a special case for their involvement in or interest in Digital Asset Management.

The purpose of the Doctoral Scholarship in Montessori Education is to encourage and stimulate doctoral studies in the meadow of Montessori education and Montessori teacher education.

• One scholarship may be awarded annually.
• The scholarship covers the full tuition and learner services levy fee or part-time equivalent.
• The scholarship does not include the Students' Association fee.
tenure
• The tenure of this scholarship is for one year.
• Scholarships may be considered for renewal in subsequent years, up to a maximum of three years per recipient.

MENA scholarships can be used for a number of selected small courses offered by educational institutions in the Netherlands. The institutions provide professional training at post-secondary level in several fields of study. The list of selected small courses can be found in chapter 10 of this brochure.

Eligibility criteria
A candidate applying for a MENA scholarship must:
• apply for a course on the MENA course list 2012;
• not have received a MENA Scholarship in the three years prior to the start of the proposed MENA course;
• complete a MENA scholarship application form and submit all the required documentation to the Netherlands Delegation;
• be a national of and working in one of the seven selected countries;
• be a mid-career professional with at least three years' work experience;
• not be employed by:
- a multinational corporation (e.g. Shell, Unilever);
- a large national and/or commercial organisation;
- a two-pronged donor organisation (e.g. USAID, DFID, Danida, Sida, BuZa, FinAid, AusAid, ADC, SwissAid);
- a multilateral donor organisation, (e.g. a UN organisation, the World Bank, the IMF, Asian, Development Bank, African Development Bank, IADB);
- an international NGO (e.g. Oxfam, Plot, Care).
• meet the admission requirements of the selected course. As such he or she must have at least a diploma or a single's degree in one of the selected fields of study and meet additional educational or professional requirements, which may vary per course. These requirements can be found on the MENA course list available in chapter 10 of this brochure. Please also contact the the upper classes directly for more information.
• offer evidence of competence in language and prose the foreign language of instruction (English in most cases). Preferably, a candidate can provide evidence in the form of an official and verifiable score in an internationally recognised test, such as IELTS (a score of at least 6.0) or TOEFL (a score of at least 550 points on the paper-based test or 213 points on the computer-based test or 79 points on the internet-based test). In case the candidate cannot provide sufficient evidence, the delegation will evaluate the candidate's knowledge of the foreign language. Though, the final choice about a candidate's foreign language competence lies with the Dutch the upper classes.
• be nominated by his or her employer, who pledges to continue to pay a substantial part of the candidate's salary during the study period, and guarantees that at the end of the scholarship period the candidate will be offered a position at least equivalent to the current position;
• demonstrate a solid link linking his or her work and the selected course; the course must have added value for the sustainable capacity development of the employing organisation and the development of the country;
• be available for the entire period of the course and be physically and mentally able to take part in the entire course;
• declare that he or she will return to their home country immediately upon completion of the course.

For the purpose of encouraging postgraduate research at Victoria, the University offers scholarships to students about to commence a full-time, research-focussed Master's degree.
Over thirty scholarships shall be offered, consisting of a $15,000 stipend, plus domestic fees. International students, additional than persons from Australia will be accountable to pay the difference linking the full international student fee and the domestic fee.

Virginia DAR Scholarships-you must plot to work toward an undergraduate degree in a meadow additional than nursing and plot to concentrate a Virginia college or university.
