(ISC)²'s Information Security Scholarship | Learning Law

Attention Criminal evenhandedness graduate students, concentrating in cyber-security or information security, here is a fantastic scholarship opportunity. (ISC)² is the world's largest not-for-profit information security professional organization. The scholarship awarded is a one year award, up to $3,000 per recipient, and past award winners can reapply for the scholarship; there will be a whole of eight scholarships awarded.

This criminal justice-cyber security scholarship helps fund graduate students' research project. Graduate students must be junior faculty members or Doctoral students, an (ISC)² member in excellent permanent, or full-time Doctoral students or faculty members within their first five years of graduation from their Doctoral program. Applicants must also be of excellent moral and ethical character, and best represent information security professionalism.

To apply for this scholarship, students must:
* Complete an (ISC)² scholarship application form (https://www.isc2.org/uploadedFiles/Education/ISC2ScholarshipApplicationForm.pdf);
* Submit official copies all college (undergraduate and graduate) transcripts and a resume/CV;
* Submit at least three character references;
* Submit a proposed budget for the use of the maximum amount of the scholarship;
* Submit a certified statement from the applicant's academic superintendent or the institution stating:
*** That the applicant is a post-graduate student or faculty member in excellent permanent within the relevant department;
*** That the applicant is a full time post-graduate student or full-time staff member in excellent permanent with the relevant department;
*** That the applicant is pursuing a defined and university-approved research project;
*** That the institution will report and refund to (ISC)² any funds paid if the applicant discontinues the funded work /research during the scholarship term.

Applicants need to mail the application to (ISC)² at 33920 US 19 North, Suite 205, Palm Harbor, FL 34684, USA, and must be postmarked by Oct. 31, 2010.

Also, scholarship winners are required to report to (ISC)² the results of their research work within six months of their use of funds. When the research has been completed, a final report must be submitted.
