Awards will generally commence on the first day of the academic year which you have applied for i.e. 1 October 2011. Only if you fulfill all the eligibility criteria (that is, if you meet the requirements of the scholarship) will you be able to apply. If there is no separate scholarship application form to be submitted, we will use your admission application form and references provided. Therefore these may be passed on to a scholarship choice committee. Please do not send in supporting documents unless the scholarship application process particularly questions you to do so. All scholarship applications will be treated equally. An application for a scholarship must follow your application for admission. It is strongly recommended that you make your application for admission as early as possible, bearing in mind that Imperial aims to provide applicants with a choice on their application within 6 to 8 weeks from the date of submission. Applicants must go to the website http://www.afb.org/ and fill out an online application form. The form can be used to apply for several scholarships. The application form/s and additional supporting documents must be received by the foundation not later than April 30, 2011.

Program Requirements

UC San Diego Extension is looking to reward ancient pupils with the promise and the makings to improve the quality of life in San Diego, and beyond. In the application essay, the makings recipients can clarify how they would help California build a globally competitive talent pool, accelerate economic vitality or foster community-building conversations if they receive this advanced training.

Certificate programs offer a practical, concentrated study in a specific professional area and most can be started any academic quarter. For the convenience of working adults, classes for most of UC San Diego Extension's certificate programs and specialized study programs are held evenings and weekends on the UC San Diego main campus and three additional locations in Sorrento Mesa, Rancho Bernardo and Mission Valley.

UC San Diego offers approximately 100 certificates or special study programs. Some areas of possible study for career changers or persons wishing to add new skills to their resume include: Business; Digital Arts; Education; Engineering and Defense Technology; English Language Studies; Foreign Languages; Healthcare and Behavioral Sciences; Humanities and Writing; Information Technology and Software Engineering; Law; Leadership and Management Development; Life Sciences; Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health; Photography, Art and Music, and Public Service, Social Responsibility and Sustainable Business.

Certificate programs at UC San Diego Extension have never been more well loved. This past year UC San Diego Extension had approximately 56,000 enrollees, which translates to a record 26,000 students in more than 4,900 courses.

Pursuing a continuing education certificate on a part-time basis can be a cost-effective and time-effective way to gain applied knowledge for employment areas in higher demand. According to a 2009 survey of 487 certificate graduates, 84 percent reported they accomplished the goals they set for themselves by obtaining an UC San Diego Extension certificate. Approximately 62 percent of certificate graduates are under the age of 39. Approximately 85 percent already have a college degree and 10 percent are ancient pupils of UC San Diego.

The Exchange the World scholarships are automatically renewed, provided the recipient continues to pass their coursework and remains active in the certificate program. Scholarships cover tuition only, are non-transferable and carry no cash value.

Scholarships are awarded each academic quarter. Applications must be received by January 15, April 15, July 15, or October 15. Recipients and non-recipients are told by email by March 15, June 15, September 15 and December 15. Applications will be considered for the upcoming quarter. The UC San Diego Extension Scholarship Committee will review scholarship applications four times a year and reserves the right not to award a scholarship.

Christ's College offers a one-year Research Scholarship in History, calculated to support scholars at an early stage of their research career. The Scholarship may be used to support a year of pre-Ph.D. independent study, any before or after an M.Phil. degree in History. Previous holders have used the Scholarship for learning a language or mastering an adjacent scholarly field. The Scholarship is also available to provide partial support to candidates for M.Phil. degrees in the Faculty of History at Cambridge.

The Scholarship is open to graduates of any University. They must have received their first degree by September 2010 and not have graduated earlier than May 2009. Holders of the Scholarship must become members of Christ's College. The Scholarship is currently worth £8,000; it may also pay up to £1,000 as a supplementary allowance for research expenses.

Most of the deadlines for scholarships for fall was back in feb and march. Your best bet right now is to go to the teach and find out what scholarships they have that don't have expired deadlines. If they say none, reflect of it as looking for scholarships for NEXT year.

The College invites applications for Roosevelt Scholarships from well-qualified British and Canadian candidates who will be studying at the University of Cambridge for the M.Phil. Degree in matters relevant to Anglo-American relations. Successful candidates will have satisfied the provisional requirements of the Board of Graduate Studies of the University of Cambridge and have been accepted for registration on one of its postgraduate programmes, most probably at the Centre of International Studies.

The Scholarship is tenable for one year from 1 October 2011. Candidates must have graduated at a university before 1 October 2011. Consideration will normally be restricted to persons who have a record of academic distinction consistent with the proposed field of study and who can demonstrate the the makings to make a significant contribution to the broader life of Magdalene College, as well as to the wider interests of the Atlantic Studies Programme at the University of Cambridge.

In determining the value of the Scholarships in individual cases, the College will take into account candidates income from all sources. A maximum individual award (at October 2010 values) of no more than £9,847 (UK scholars) to £10,172 (Canadian scholars, to include settling in payment) will be made to a Scholar in 2011. It follows, therefore, that the funding to meet the costs of University and College Fees will have already been met by the applicant.

Rented accommodation in or near College will be made available to an unmarried Scholar. A married Scholar will be offered rented accommodation near to the College.

Candidates liable to pay University fees at the overseas rate will be expected to apply for Overseas Student Bursaries awarded by the University of Cambridge and organised by the Board of Graduate Studies and The Cambridge Trusts. GRADSAF application forms should reach the Board as soon as possible and no later than 30 January 2011 (or course deadline, whichever is earlier).

All candidates should complete a Roosevelt Scholarship application form (link below) or obtained from the Tutor for Graduate Admissions, Magdalene College, Cambridge, CB3 0AG. Applications (SIX COPIES) should be returned in hard copy to the Tutor for Graduate Admissions by 1 June 2011.

A prestigious scholarship, supported by the Victoria University Foundation and run through the Centre for Biodiversity & Restoration Ecology (CBRE), is available for a PhD student to undertake research on a topic within the area of biodiversity and restoration ecology. The successful candidate will be based at Victoria University of Wellington and will work on a project in the School of Biological Sciences (SBS) where academic supervision will be provided. The focus will be on   biodiversity research applied to the need to identify and restore depleted populations, species and communities in ecosystems that have been impacted by creature activity, particularly within New Zealand.

Criteria

CBRE aims for both distinction in scientific research, and delivery of the end product of that research in a form that directly benefits conservation management, the community community and the commercial sector.

The successful applicant should have an outstanding academic track record in a relevant biological discipline. The applicant will be expected to have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree with academic distinction equivalent to a First Class Honours degree at a New Zealand University. The position is open to both New Zealand and international students. Students whose first language is not English are required to meet the English language proficiency requirements for postgraduate study at Victoria University. Research areas of interest that will be considered are:

Animal-plant relationships
Behavioural ecology
Biotechnology
Coastal ecology
Conservation biology
Endemic species biology
Evolutionary relationships
Invasive species biology
Plant eco-physiology
Urban ecology and landscape design

Applicants are requested to clearly indicate their area of research interest and to include a brief summary of their suggested research and methodology with their application.
