Eligibility:
-Applicants must be currently enrolled for a doctoral degree.
-Application must be made jointly with a dissertation superintendent or additional scholar who will undertake responsibility for supervising the project.
-Qualified doctoral students are eligible without regard to nationality or institutional or departmental affiliation.
-Grant funds cannot be unrestricted unless the applicant has successfully completed all requirements for the doctoral degree additional than the dissertation/thesis. Applications may be submitted before t he completion of such requirements; but, all requirements additional than the dissertation/thesis must be completed before the start date for the research agreed by the applicant on the application form.

Scholarship Description: Dissertation Fieldwork Grants are awarded to aid doctoral or thesis research. The program contributes to the Foundation's overall mission to support basic research in anthropology and to ensure that the discipline continues to be a source of vibrant and significant work that furthers our understanding of humanity's cultural and biological origins, development, and variation. The Foundation supports research that demonstrates a apparent link to anthropological theory and debates, and promises to make a solid contribution to advancing thes&# 101; thoughts. There is no preference for any methodology, research place, or subfield. The Foundation particularly welcomes proposals that use a comparative perspective, can generate innovative approaches or thoughts, and/or integrate two or more subfields.
