The Nellie Thomas Scholarship was founded in 2008 in memory of Nellie Bertha (McDowell) Baker and Thomas McDowell. The aim of the Scholarship is to help an indigenous student studying in the meadow of Medicine/Health. The scholarship will financially help applicants on low incomes with additional cost associated with university. Programs of study Any Griffith University undergraduate program in the meadow of Medicine or Health.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Nellie Thomas Scholarship the applicant must:
* be studying in the meadow of Medicine/Health at Griffith University
* be an Indigenous Australian or Torres Strait Islander
* demonstrate financial disadvantage by being in receipt of a means-tested Commonwealth income support payment (such as ABSTUDY, Youth Allowance) or by a comprehensive assessment completed by Griffith University.
