The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London is giving £30,000 worth of one-year Higher Diploma course scholarships for deserving applicants to both UK and international students.

All you have to do to apply is to complete the Higher Diploma Music Scholarship Application Form and send in your best 3 minute solo performance music video.

The closing date for your application is set on the 24th of February 2012. Up to eight applicants in each category will then be select and invited to perform at the April 2012 grand finals in London. The final prizes will be awarded based on the individual's live performance at the grand final and candidate's suitability for study at the Institute.

ICMP, or the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, along with their partners, have been actively giving scholarships to ensure that a wide range of students are able to access their courses, in any case of financial, cultural or social circumstances.

The scholarship categories and their sponsors are as follows:

  • GUITAR – Supported by Yamaha Guitar and Total Guitar Magazine
  • BASS: Supported by Musicman Bass and Bass Guitar Magazine
  • DRUMS: Supported by Mapex/Paiste and Drummer Magazine
  • VOCALS: Supported by Shure

Each of the four categories will have one ICMP full scholarship (amounting to over £5,000 ) and one ICMP partial scholarship (worth £2,500). The Higher Diploma course is a specialist one-year full-time course, developed by the Institute for rising students of guitar, bass, drums and vocals for a career in the music industry.

The Higher Diploma course was one of the first full-time music course of its kind ever developed in the UK and young musicians continue to aspire to study music at ICMP. The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, widely recognised as one of Europe's leading schools of modern music. They rely on their professional teaching and visiting faculty, many of whom regularly work and tour with some of the music industry's utmost artists.

Institute Alumni are scattered throughout the music industry, playing with high profile artists such as Eric Clapton, Kylie Minogue, Radiohead, The Noisettes, and Paolo Nutini. Before ICMP Music scholarship winners can be seen performing with successful artists crosswise the world including Estelle, N-Dubz and Lauren Hill.
