Annual funding opportunities to enable employess of NHS Lothian and the University of Edinburgh connected with the Royal Infirmary to progress their continuous professional learning.
Who may apply for the Scholarship?
Students may apply whose work is connected with the Royal Infirmary and who can demonstrate the support of their line administrator and that the nature of the intended course supports both their career path and their employer's business objectives at the Royal Infirmary.

When should you apply for the Scholarship?
Applications for the Consort Education scholarship will be accepted between September and April each year. We expect to make initial decisions on applications by the end of June this year. Please apply as soon as possible and by 31 August 2011 at the very latest.
What is required in order to apply for the Scholarship?
The application form below should be completed, including a personal statement outlining why the prospective student wishes to study the particular course or programme and how the learning fits within the priorities of the service will need to be submitted. A supporting statement is also required from the applicant's line administrator.
What about fees?
Scholarships will be administered by Queen Margaret University and will cover payment of the academic fees only. Salary and travel costs are not built-in.
How are candidates selected?
All applicants will be assessed and selected by a panel from NHS Lothian and Queen Margaret University. Candidates applying for small course programmes will be selected based on their written submission; candidates applying for the award of degrees or certificates will be based on their written submission and may be questioned to concentrate an interview.
