SHEA to Award Scholarships in Infection Prevention and Healthcare ...

The The upper classes for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) has announced it will award up to sixteen scholarships to investigators in the fields of healthcare epidemiology and infection prevention.

Healthcare Epidemiology

Infectious disease fellows who demonstrate an interest in the meadow of healthcare epidemiology will be interested in the Jonathan Freeman Scholarship.  SHEA will award up to eight scholarships of $500 to defray expenses and provide complimentary registration to the Basic Training in Healthcare Epidemiology at SHEA's spring 2012 conference "Advancing Healthcare Epidemiology and Antimicrobial Stewardship."

Infection Prevention

SHEA will also be awarding up to eight scholarships under the Gina Pugliese scholarship to promote the training of non-physician infection preventionists (IPs) who have shown outstanding interest and leadership in the meadow or work in a resource limited setting.  These eight awardees will also receive a $500 grant applicable towards program expenses and a complimentary registration to the Basic Training in Healthcare Epidemiology at SHEA's spring 2012 conference.

Applications for the scholarships are due by November 30, 2011.
